Why these glasses
A pair of 12-ounce fluted glasses for iced matcha, oat-milk lattes, and layered shots where you want the drink to be the picture. The vertical ridges catch light, and the wide mouth gives a whisk room to work directly in the cup if that's how you take your matcha.
Specs
- Capacity: 12 oz / 350 ml each
- Material: high-borosilicate glass, single-wall
- Profile: vertical fluted ridges, Korean-style
- Dimensions: approximately 5" H × 3" W
- Hand-wash recommended (single-wall, not insulated)
- Pair box: 2 glasses per order
How we use them
Mornings, two glasses on the counter side by side. One for cold-brewed matcha over ice, one for whatever Lisa is drinking that day. The fluted body shows the layers when oat milk goes in over a thick matcha base, which is half the reason we picked this shape.
Care
Hand-wash with warm water and a soft sponge. Single-wall glass — for hot drinks, use a coaster and grip near the rim where the wall is cooler. Avoid sudden temperature swings (no straight from freezer to boiling). Borosilicate is sturdier than ordinary glass but not unbreakable.

Customer reviews
My iced matcha looks like the cafe ones now. The fluted glass catches light in such a pretty way. Bought a pair so my daughter and I have matching cups for our morning routine.
Got these as a gift. The presentation box is beautiful, no wrapping needed. My mom called me the next morning to tell me how much she loves them.
I drink matcha lattes daily and these have completely replaced my mason jars. The ribbed pattern is gorgeous and they feel substantial in hand.
Photographed beautifully for my food blog. I styled them with sliced lemons and matcha and the pictures were the best engagement I have had in months. The ribbing adds depth.
Cups are stunning. The only thing is they are a bit tall for my espresso machine drip tray, so I have to pull them out to pour. Worth it for how they look.
Ordered after seeing them on a Korean cafe Instagram and they nailed the aesthetic. Borosilicate glass means I can pour hot milk straight in without worry.
Bought for my sister's birthday and ended up keeping one for myself. They are that good. Clean lines, perfect weight, dishwasher held up after weeks.
The 12oz size is exactly right for my morning latte. Not too small that I am refilling, not so big that the matcha feels diluted.
Gift for my best friend who got into matcha last year. She texted me a picture of her drink in the cup the same week she got it. The fluted detail looks expensive.
Holds heat surprisingly well for clear glass. My oat milk latte stayed warm through my whole morning routine. Bought a second pair for my office.
Beautiful cups. Wish they came with a saucer option since I would buy that too. The packaging was thoughtful, felt like opening a gift even though I bought them for myself.
Honestly the prettiest glasses I own. I use one for matcha, the other for cold brew coffee, and they make my morning feel slower in a good way.
My husband bought me these because he was tired of seeing me drink matcha out of a coffee mug. Total upgrade. The fluted shape feels nice to hold.
Korean cafe vibes at home. Layered iced matcha looks gorgeous in the ribbed glass. My teenager keeps borrowing them for her TikTok videos.
Came in bubble wrap inside the gift box. Both arrived perfect. The glass is clearer than I expected from the photos.
Bought as a wedding shower gift. Bride loved them. The pair box made it feel like a curated gift, not just a kitchen item.
Glass is a touch thinner than I expected. They look great and have not chipped, but I treat them carefully. The fluted design is the highlight.
My daily matcha cup. The ribbing makes it easy to grip even with cold condensation, which I appreciate.
Set of two means my partner and I both have one. We drink matcha together every morning. The cups make it feel like a ritual.
Quality is obvious from the first time you pick one up. Heavier than the cheap fluted glasses I tried from elsewhere. Worth the price for matcha lovers.
Christmas gift for my daughter who just got into matcha. The presentation box made the unwrapping a moment. She uses them every day.
Cups are pretty and the pair box is nice. I gave them four stars in my head but knocked it down because the glass picked up a tiny scratch in the dishwasher within a month. Hand wash if you can.
My matcha set wasn't complete until I got these. The fluted pattern catches the green color of the matcha against the milk in a way that looks like a magazine photo.
Drank tea out of mason jars for years. Switched to these and immediately felt like I was treating myself. The 12oz size works for hot lattes and iced drinks.

The story behind the product
Strabella Handcrafted Ceramic Matcha Bowl
A hand-glazed chawan where the shape itself is part of how good matcha gets made
Hand-applied glaze
Each Bowl's Glaze Pattern Is Applied by Hand and Varies Slightly
The glaze on this chawan is brushed on by hand rather than dip-coated by machine, which produces the tonal variation and depth you see in the photos. Two bowls from the same batch will have the same base color but different surface movement — pooling, brushstroke direction, minor variation in the glaze layer thickness. We consider this a feature, not a quality inconsistency. Mass-produced ceramic has a uniformity that looks good in a product photo and feels anonymous in the hand. This doesn't.
Chawan geometry
The Bowl Shape Exists Because It's the Right Shape for Whisking
A chawan isn't just a wide bowl — the proportions are deliberate. The curved interior walls allow the chasen (bamboo whisk) to move in a full W-stroke without the tines catching the wall or the bowl base. The wider mouth gives the foam room to develop at the surface. Drinking matcha from a mug works, but the wide mouth of the chawan cools the liquid faster, lets you smell the aroma as you drink, and gives you better visual access to the foam. The shape matters in practical ways.
Real daily use
The Bowl That Changes How You Think About the Morning Routine
Most people who start using a proper chawan report that the bowl itself changes the pace of their morning matcha. Something about holding a piece that was made by hand, with a shape that has centuries of refinement behind it, slows you down in a way a mug doesn't. It's not mysticism; it's just that the object asks for a certain amount of attention, and that attention is the point. This bowl is dishwasher safe on the top rack, but most people who use it daily find they'd rather wash it by hand.
From Lisa
The Piece I Use Every Morning Without Exception
I've tried to integrate matcha into my mornings with mugs, with travel cups, with ceramic I already had. None of it stuck until I got a proper chawan. The bowl changes the experience — it feels like the beginning of something intentional rather than a task to check off. This is the specific bowl I use, the one we developed and had made for Strabella. I'm proud of how it came out. — Lisa
