Why this salt cellar
A cream stoneware pot with a fitted acacia wood lid and a small bamboo spoon. It's the cellar that lives at arm's reach of the burner, easy to open one-handed while the other hand is stirring.
Specs
- Material: hand-finished stoneware, cream/oat color
- Lid: acacia wood, fitted (not threaded — lift to open)
- Includes: bamboo measuring spoon
- Dimensions: approximately 3.5" diameter
- Capacity: roughly 2.5 oz of fine sea salt
- Cottage-kitchen profile — pairs with butcher block, stoneware mugs, oak cabinets
How we use it
Lisa keeps this one by the stove for daily reach. Lid off when she's cooking, lid on between meals. The bamboo spoon stays inside — easier than fishing it out of a drawer mid-recipe. Refilled from a sealed bag of Maldon every couple of weeks.
Care
Hand-wash the ceramic body. The acacia wood lid wants a damp wipe, not a soak — oil it with a drop of food-safe mineral oil every few months to keep the grain from drying out. Bamboo spoon is hand-wash only.

Customer reviews
Replaced the metal shaker I had for 12 years. The cream stoneware is so much warmer-looking. The little bamboo spoon is the detail that won me over.
Cottagecore kitchen energy. The acacia wood lid against the cream ceramic is a perfect contrast. Sits between my olive oil bottle and pepper grinder like it belongs.
Bought as a housewarming gift for my sister and one for myself. The bamboo spoon is included, which is a nice touch. She texted me to thank me twice.
Daughter is learning to cook and I wanted her to have something pretty to use. She measures pinches of salt now like a real chef. The cellar is durable for kid hands.
Lovely piece. The wood lid has a small natural variation in the grain that I like. One tiny note: the bamboo spoon is light and could feel sturdier, but it works.
Daily cook here. Having salt in arm's reach with a pretty container has actually made me season more confidently. The wood lid stays put.
Mom gave away her shakers when she downsized to a smaller place. She uses this on her countertop now and says it makes her kitchen feel calmer.
Cream stoneware matches my farmhouse-leaning kitchen perfectly. The acacia wood ages beautifully — mine has slightly darkened in a good way over the past two months.
Got it for my mom for her 70th. She uses it daily and showed it off at her bridge club. Apparently three of her friends have ordered it now.
3.5 inches is the right size. Big enough to grab a real pinch, small enough that the salt does not go stale at the bottom.
My grandmother had a salt cellar like this. Gave one to my daughter who just moved into her first apartment. Tradition continues.
Pretty piece. Wish the lid had a slight notch for the spoon to rest in, but I just leave the spoon inside or beside it. Works fine.
My family with two small kids actually uses it daily. The kids think the bamboo spoon is theirs. The lid stays on even when they grab at it.
Replaces a plastic Diamond Crystal box on my counter. Now I leave kosher salt in the cellar and refill the box in the cabinet.
Stoneware feels substantial. Not light or thin like cheap ceramic. The acacia wood lid has a nice weight to it as well.
Daughter and I cook together every Sunday and now we use this. She loves the little spoon. Looks pretty on the counter when not in use.
Bought after my friend showed me hers. She was right. The cream-acacia combination is timeless and works in any style kitchen.
Beautiful. Slight color variation between mine and the listing photos, more eggshell than ivory. Still gorgeous, I just expected slightly whiter.
My husband finds salt easier when I tell him to grab from the cellar. He used to ignore the shaker. Behavioral change.
Acacia wood smells faintly woody when you open it for the first time. Settled after a few days. The salt has not picked up any taste.
Looks great. The bamboo spoon broke at the handle within two months. The cellar itself is fine and I just use a measuring spoon now. Knocked off two stars for the spoon.
Gift exchange winner at my book club. The presentation is simple and the cellar is genuinely useful. Five out of seven attendees asked where it was from.
Replaces the silver-tin shaker my mother gave me 30 years ago. Felt nostalgic to retire it but this matches my newly remodeled kitchen better. The shaker is in a memory box now.
My family's kitchen now has matching ceramic salt and pepper containers. The cellar with the wood lid is the prettier of the two. The bamboo spoon makes it feel special.
