Why navy blue
Black shows lint. White shows everything. Navy is the forgiving middle ground — hides water marks, complements any kitchen, and reads "premium" without being loud. It's the #1 requested color in our feedback.

Why this beats a kitchen towel
A towel gets wet, stays wet, and breeds bacteria within 24 hours. This blue dish drying mat wicks water away from dishes, stays flat, and goes in the washing machine when dirty. Most customers rotate two — one in use, one in the wash.
Pairs with
A dish drying rack on top. The rack holds the dishes; the mat catches the drip. Together they keep your counter dry without thinking about it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the navy color fade in the wash?
No. We use reactive dyes that bond to the fiber. Cold-water wash preserves color indefinitely. Customers who've had theirs 2+ years report same shade as day one.
Can this go in the dryer?
Line-dry is best — heat can degrade the rubber backing over time. If you must use a dryer, use low heat.
Is this the large dish drying mat size?
18×24 inches is our medium-large size — ideal for single-sink setups. For families of 5+, consider pairing with a 2-tier dish drying rack.
How is microfiber better than cotton?
Microfiber fibers are 1/100 the thickness of cotton — so one mat has exponentially more surface area, which means faster absorption and faster drying.
Does it smell when it gets wet?
Not unless you leave it wet and folded. Drape it over the dish rack between uses to air-dry. Machine wash monthly.

How to choose your mat size: Measure the space where the mat will sit (under the sink, next to the stove, by the food bowl, etc.), then match to the closest size below. We recommend a mat at least 2" larger than what it's protecting.
| Size | Dimensions (in) | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Small | 12" × 16" | Pet food bowls, coffee stations, single appliances |
| Medium | 16" × 24" | Standard dish-drying area, standard sink mats |
| Large | 17" × 31" | Long counters, multiple pots, full dish rack + drying zone |
| XL | 24" × 36" | Large pet feeding stations, full-width counter runs, multi-dog households |
Tip: If between sizes, go bigger — the stone/silicone will never "overhang" noticeably, but a mat that's too small won't catch all the water or food.

The story behind the product
Navy Dish Drying Mat
The same ribbed microfiber construction as our black mat, in a color that earns its place on the counter
Intentional color choice
Navy Works in Kitchens Where Black Reads Too Stark
We added the navy colorway because there's a whole category of kitchen — white shaker cabinets, butcher block, warm hardware — where black accessories feel out of place but gray disappears. Navy holds its own visually in those spaces without competing with the cabinetry. It's the same microfiber ribbed construction as the black mat: same fiber count, same woven border, same absorbency. The only difference is the dye, and we chose a navy that reads consistent rather than fading unevenly after washing.
Colorfast weave
The Dye Is Set to Resist Fading Through Repeated Hot Washes
Navy microfiber can fade unevenly — particularly at the edges and the raised ribs where abrasion is higher during washing. We specifically tested colorfastness before settling on this version because a dish mat that goes patchy after four wash cycles is more frustrating than a mat that was never that color to begin with. The dye here uses a fiber-reactive process that bonds to the microfiber strand rather than coating it, so the color holds through repeated washing without going greenish or spotty.
Real daily use
The Mat That Actually Coordinates With a Blue-and-White Kitchen
If your kitchen has a navy or blue accent tile, blue Le Creuset on the open shelf, or you just have a preference for cooler tones in the kitchen, this mat fits without you having to force it. It dries a full dish load without needing to be moved or wrung out. By the end of the week it's ready for the wash; by the time it comes out, the color is back to exactly what it was. That's the version of a dish mat that stays out on the counter because it's earned its spot.

The Color Request That Came from Our Own Customers
We launched with the black mat first. Within a couple of months we had enough emails asking about a blue version that we went looking for the right navy. I wanted it to look as intentional as the other colors we carry — not a generic blue, something with a little depth to it. This is the one I would put in my own kitchen if my counters were lighter. Honestly it photographs better too, which doesn't hurt. — Lisa
